Principal

Ms. Dawn DeMauro, Principal

I am honored to begin my 22nd year in education, fourth year as an elementary principal, and my first year as principal of Gamewell Elementary School. My career has spanned a variety of roles and grade levels, including teaching high school mathematics and business, fourth and fifth grade in elementary, and middle school social studies and language arts. I also served for five years as a middle grades instructional coach and three years as a high school assistant principal. These experiences have shaped my instructional leadership and passion for student growth, no matter the age. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family—including my two daughters, Ashtyn and Kendal, my son, Jerry, and my chocolate lab, Presley. I also enjoy traveling, reading, baking, knitting, music, outdoor adventures, and making memories with my grandchildren.

As a former Gamewell student, I am deeply committed to our school’s vision for our students: Globally prepared, Educationally competitive, Self-sufficient citizens of the 21st century. I believe that strong, collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader community are essential to creating an environment where all children thrive. I look forward to fostering these partnerships as we work together to support every learner.
