What's Happening In The Art
Program?

ARTSONIA
(www.artsonia.com)
More than half of
our students are now showing their work on Artsonia,
an Internet gallery that shows only
student art from all over the world!
Parents can view their child’s work and
approve comments that have been written by using
their screen name.
By the end of the year, all of our
students with parental permission with be
featured on Artsonia.
It is a wonderful opportunity to show
art, connect with other student artists all over
the world, use computer technology, and raise
money for our school. Artsonia is
available to our school through a No Child Left
Behind Grant.
Here’s how it works:
- Art teacher selects student's best
work and takes a photo.
- Parent receives a permission form
to sign and return.
- Art teacher sends photo to Artsonia
and it is published in about one
week.
- Art teacher sends an Artsonia
Achievement Award with child's
screen name home, which parents need
to remember in order to find their
child's work. After entering
their child's screen name at the Artsonia
web site, parents can
then view work, approve comments,
and order Artsonia products
with child's art work on it.
Fifteen percent of proceeds goes to
our school.
- Art teacher continues to select
artwork by more students. Artsonia
will keep work on display for three
years. Parents can remove work
from Artsonia by notifying
Ms. Sharpe, the art teacher.
